A-CSM Certification Requirements

  • An active Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM) with Scrum Alliance
  • 12 months of Scrum Master experience (within the past 5 years, does not need to be consecutive) logged on your Scrum Alliance profile
  • Active participation in the full course

You can attend before meeting the 12-month experience requirement. Scrum Alliance issues the certification once all requirements are confirmed.

What are the prerequisites?
You need an active CSM certification. The 12 months of Scrum Master experience can be completed after taking the class. Scrum Alliance issues your A-CSM once everything is logged. The experience does not need to be consecutive.
Can I attend before I have 12 months of experience?
Yes. You can take the class now and log your experience later. Scrum Alliance issues the A-CSM once your experience hours are confirmed.
Is there an exam?
No. You earn the A-CSM by attending the full class and actively participating. No exam required.
How is this different from the CSM?
The A-CSM covers advanced facilitation, coaching, and organizational influence. It assumes you already understand how Scrum works and focuses on leading people through it more effectively.
Can my team attend together?
Yes. Teams are welcome, and attending together often makes the exercises more valuable. Contact Brian about group registration.
